Our Founders

Edward and Sarah Farrant, also the proprietors of Earlam and Christopher Optometrists. As nationally recognised leaders actively shaping the future of eye care, the Farrants are deeply involved in pioneering clinical research.

Pioneering Research & Therapies

Deeply involved in pioneering clinical research into photobiomodulation (PBM) including the groundbreaking Lightwave Clinical Trial in 2024. This commitment enables us to offer advanced, evidence-based light therapies, such as advanced Light Modulation® Low-Level Light Therapy (LM® LLLT).

Our Team

Nicole King

Graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Optometry in 2014. After gaining experience in different aspects of Optometry, Nicole joined Earlam and Christopher in 2024.

Nicole is currently working towards completing her Independent prescribing qualification.

Madeline Yendall

Graduated from Plymouth University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Optometry in 2021. After gaining experience in different aspects of Optometry, Madeline joined Earlam and Christopher in 2024.

Madeline is currently working towards completing her certificate in medical retina.

Sarah Farrant

Graduated from Cardiff University and has undertaken a number of additional qualifications.

Sarah is a leading national expert in therapeutics and dry eye management and represents the UK as an Ambassador for the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society (TFOS).

She previously sat on the council for the national College of Optometrists for 12 years, is currently on the Executive board of the British Contact Lens Association and is chair of the Somerset Local Optical Committee.

Edward Farrant

Graduated from Cardiff University and is one of a small number of experts in the country to be a qualified prescribing optometrist, diagnosing and treating eye disease.

Edward is a dynamic optometrist with a broad range of specialist skills that extend to treating glaucoma and a wide range of eye diseases. He particularly enjoys working with contact lenses, and runs specialist clinics within the practice.

He runs the only myopia (short sight) treatment clinic in the area, helping to actually stop short sight from getting worse in children. He also works in clinics in Bristol Eye Hospital, Musgrove Park Hospital and Weston General.
